🎉 NitroFix has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Hill Brothers Chemical Company, a leading supplier of anhydrous and aqua ammonia products in the Western United States for over a century, to install and validate NitroFix’s green ammonia generators. This partnership represents a significant step toward delivering “last mile ammonia” by enabling clean, on-site production powered by renewable energy.
Hill Brothers, known for providing premium-grade anhydrous ammonia and commercial-grade aqua ammonia in bulk tank truck deliveries, will serve as both a beta site and strategic partner in this collaboration. Together, the companies aim to demonstrate the benefits of decentralized, emission-free ammonia—including improved supply chain resilience, reduced logistics costs, and substantial reductions in carbon emissions.
The LOI lays the groundwork for a new model of sustainable chemical manufacturing across the Western U.S., with potential expansion into both anhydrous and aqua ammonia applications.
🎤 At the Campus to Career forum hosted by Ignite The Spark and Women in Energy, Dr. Ophira Melamed, CEO of NitroFix, spoke about the critical role women have in shaping the future of the cleantech and energy sectors. She emphasized that the “S” in ESG—social responsibility—is not just a checkbox, but a call to action and driver of business success. Highlighting NitroFix’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and community engagement, Ophira explained how these values are embedded in the company’s day-to-day decision making and operations.
📊 Ophira also spoke at the Grants and Incentives in Climate Tech event by Deloitte & Climate First, highlighting the crucial role of non-dilutive funding in scaling breakthrough innovations. She joined the expert panel to share practical strategies that helped NitroFix unlock meaningful funding.

🚢 MOL doubles down on ammonia bulkers and tankers - Japanese shipping giant MOL announced contracts to build 9 of the world’s first ammonia dual-fuel Cape size bulkers and chemical tankers. It also reaffirmed its goal to cut carbon emissions by 2050, 70% of which will be attributed to using green ammonia and hydrogen, securing ammonia’s role as a pillar of future maritime energy.
🧩 Ammonia-fueled container ship designs advance - The Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping released a concept design for a 3,500 TEU ammonia-fueled container vessel, reinforcing that major shipping stakeholders are seriously planning for an ammonia-powered fleet.
📊 70% of green hydrogen will ultimately be used for clean ammonia production, estimate the Mission Possible Partnership. Unlike conventional approaches that require separate hydrogen generation, NitroFix skips the hydrogen step entirely, enabling modular, on-demand ammonia production—ideal for both emerging producers and legacy players seeking retrofit-ready solutions.
🔁 Hydrogen midstream tech heats up - New analysis from H2UBshows venture funding is flowing towards technology focused on hydrogen transport, storage, and conversion, especially for ammonia-based solutions approaching commercial scale, like NitroFix.
📈 Green ammonia’s boom plays to NitroFix’s strengths - With 372 clean ammonia projects around the globe, the sector is scaling rapidly, but commercial viability and affordability remain the defining challenge. With significantly lower CAPEX investment and a fraction of the production cost, NitroFix has secured a strong competitive edge.
